Tally keeps the books. This page is for the plant where orders, stock and the shop floor have moved into spreadsheets around it. Where we describe Tally, we quote Tally and link the source.

The short answer

Tally may be enough if

You keep accounts and stock, and the team works from one desk.

Mach ERP fits if

Orders, stock and the shop floor live in spreadsheets around the books, and the MD calls four people for one figure.

Today vs in Mach ERP

The rate was agreed on a call and the quantity changed in a chat. Someone types the sales order into a spreadsheet, then types it again into Tally. Two files, two numbers.

The status quo

  • Problem: The rate agreed on a call, the quantity changed in a chat
  • Problem: The sales order typed into a spreadsheet from a screenshot
  • Problem: The same order typed again into Tally
  • Problem: Two files, two numbers: 12 shafts or 14, ₹32,500 or ₹32,000
  • Problem: The MD calls four people for one figure

With Mach ERP

  • The quotation becomes the sales order. Nobody types it again.
  • Each document in the order flow links to the one before it.
  • The modules share one ledger.

Honestly

Not every plant needs an ERP. If this is you, stay where you are.
  • 01

    Accounts and stock, one desk.

If you only keep accounts and stock, and the team is happy at one desk, you may not need an ERP yet.
  • 02

    Excel is one person’s list.

If Excel is a working list for one person, and nobody else needs the same number, a spreadsheet is enough.
  • 03

    WhatsApp still holds the orders.

If the plant is still under the size where WhatsApp can hold the orders, stay. The leak starts when the MD has to call four people for one figure.

Moving in
